The Glendale Police Department said the truck was found with the engine on and the rear doors were open. FedEx is working to determine how many packages may have been taken.
No suspects have been arrested.
The driver was making the delivery near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road when his truck was taken.
“We had a FedEx driver who was delivering a package at a residence and as he got back to his vehicle, he saw that there was a black male suspect already inside the vehicle inside the driver’s seat,” Sgt. Scott Waite said, adding that the suspect pointed a gun at the driver.
Waite said the driver tried to get back to the truck, but a second man, who is also black, approached him with a handgun.
Waite said the driver was not injured in the incident, but is “shook up and heartbroken” about the theft of so many packages with Christmas less than a week away.
