PHOENIX — A 2.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in the northeast of the Valley according to the USGS website.
The website says the epicenter of the 2.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred at 7:51 p.m. was northeast of Rio Verde.
In Nov. 2015, multiple earthquakes near Black Canyon City were felt throughout Phoenix and the surrounding cities. The 4.1 magnitude earthquake was roughly 50 miles north of downtown Phoenix. A smaller 3.2 magnitude earthquake also occurred a few hours earlier but was not felt nearly as many people as the latter earthquake.
The “Felt Report” on USGS’ website has a handful of people with responses nearly an hour after the earthquake.
