PHOENIX — For all the foodies out there looking for their next stop, the folks over at OpenTable have you covered.
With the end of the year coming up, they released their “100 Best Restaurants in America” list and three Valley restaurants made the cut.
Barrio Cafe Gran Reserva in Phoenix on Grand Avenue near the Interstate 10 has a 4.8 rating on the website. OpenTable calls the dishes at the restaurant “iconic” while noting the “elegant-casual venue” is affordable. The spot opened in June of this year and offers several Mexican options.
Kai at Wild Horse Pass in Chandler is a recipient of some of the highest rewards for restaurants, such as the AAA Five Diamond Award and Forbes Five-Star Award. The menu is known for incorporating locally farmed ingredients and bits of the nearby Pima and Maricopa tribes. If you want to keep yourself tight to your phone, however, this is not the location for you. A “smart business casual dress code” does not allow cell phones or laptops to be used in the dining room for the “elegant and discerning adults-only fine dining environment.”
Lastly, Monarch in Scottsdale on First Avenue and Indian School Road is known for its American cuisine on a four-course menu that changes weekly in a “ultra-romantic setting.” If Monarch is the spot for you, it’s a tight window. The location is closed on Mondays and is open at the most for 4.5 hours a day.
