PHOENIX — According to one website, Scottsdale and Gilbert residents are in a much better position than most when it comes to taking care of their money.
WalletHub took a look at 150 cities and ranked them across several different categories in order to determine their “WalletFitness.”
Neither financial success nor monetary fears are experienced equally throughout the country, however, which means WalletFitness levels vary widely as well. So as we take stock of the things we’re most thankful for in life and prepare to make resolutions for self-improvement, it’s fair to wonder who’s best situated for financial success and who has the most work to do.
The nine Arizona cities that were measured did fairly well. Three cities in the Grand Canyon state were ranked in the top 20: Scottsdale at 11, Gilbert placed 13th and Chandler ranked 19th.
The only category any city in the state was ranked in the top 5 for was highest median household income, which had three of the five. Gilbert ranked first, Chandler was fourth and Scottsdale placed fifth.
Tucson was placed the lowest of the nine cities in 124th. Phoenix was 69th.
San Francisco ranked first on the list and Newark was dead last.
