PHOENIX — Residents in San Diego, Calif. received an odd warning Tuesday as numerous fires began to pop up.
According to U-T San Diego, the county’s app began alerting people that there was a “fire in your pants.”

San Diego County Communications Director Michael Workman told U-T San Diego he is unsure how the message got on the county’s app, but said it could be a contractor or student.
“It doesn’t appear to have originated with us at this point,” he said. “It appears to have come from an outside entry. … Whether they were just seeing if they could do it or found ‘our door’ open, we’re going to check.”
The error quickly made its rounds on social media.
Thousands have been evacuated in the Southern California city amidst fire concerns.
