PHOENIX — Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer said the latest leak of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s emails will come as a big blow to her campaign.
“I think that the email is very devastating,” Brewer told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mac & Gaydos on Tuesday.
“That is, without a doubt, the worst news any campaign could ever receive and they just keep coming out and coming out.”
A new round of emails was released by WikiLeaks on Tuesday. In one from March 2015, Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta had emailed her confidant, Cheryl Mills, about dumping emails.
“On another matter and not to sound like Lanny, but we are going to have to dump all those emails so better to do so sooner than later,” Podesta wrote aid after hearing about the hiring of Lanny Davis, a lawyer who served as special counsel for Clinton’s husband, Bill.
Brewer said she is grateful that FBI Director James Comey decided last week to once again look into the emails.
“There’s a lot of corruption out there in a lot of different places,” she said.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump would likely agree with Brewer’s stance. Clinton’s emails have been a major attack point for his campaign.
Clinton called for the FBI to release information about the latest emails in a press conference late last week. She said voters should have all the facts ahead of next week’s election.
