Two of Arizona’s three public universities rank in the top 10 for best colleges in the west for student engagement according to the Wall Street Journal.
The University of Arizona ranked No. 6 while Arizona State University ranked No. 10. Nationally UA ranked 51st in engagement rankings and 162 in the Wall Street Journal’s National rankings. Meanwhile, ASU ranked 89th in engagement and 131st in the journal’s national rankings.
Brigham Young University topped the list and was ranked second in engagement rankings while 104th in the journal’s national rankings.
According to the Journal, the engagement accounts for 20 percent of the overall weighting in the journal’s rankings. It’s primary based on the results of a survey conducted with students which measured views on things as interactions with faculty and other students, along with the effectiveness of teaching and whether students would recommend their school.
