Report: Arizona has most powerful voters in presidential election

PHOENIX — With the presidential election rapidly approaching, voters in Arizona may have even more reason to get out and cast their ballots.
A new report from the personal-finance website WalletHub said Arizona has the most influential voters across the country in the presidential election.
Iowa ranked second in the report, with Alaska, South Dakota and Ohio rounding out the top five.
The rankings were based on a “voter power score,” which factors in the win probability for both candidates in each state. The closer to 50-50 the probability is, the more power the voters have.
Other factors such as number of electors and state population over 18 are taken into account to arrive at the final score for each state. Arizona’s score of 207.05 was over 17 points higher than the next-closest state.
A similar approach was taken for Senate elections, in which Arizona ranked near the middle of the pack. The state was listed as the 18th most powerful state in those elections.
