Multiple pedestrians hit by cars in Phoenix, including 2 kids

PHOENIX — There were three separate incidents of pedestrians getting struck by cars in Phoenix Saturday night, leaving one dead and the others seriously injured.
The first incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. near the cross-section of Dunlap and 35th avenues. A man and two kids were hit by a car and were later transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver remained on scene, and the Phoenix Police Department believes impairment was not a factor.
Just before 7 p.m., Phoenix police responded to a fatal hit and run collision near the cross-section of 39th Avenue and Camelback Road. A woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a silver vehicle, according to witnesses. The 61-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene. Witnesses described the vehicle as a possible 2008 Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows, and officers believe there is damage to the headlights and front fender. Anyone with information is urged to call Phoenix police.
Another pedestrian was hit about 9:15 p.m. near the cross-section of Indian School Road and 27th Avenue. The man was taken to the hospital with extremely critical injuries, according to Phoenix police. The driver remained on scene, and impairment is not suspected with the driver, but it is suspected with the pedestrian.
