Main Street Minute: IHOP short stack sales to benefit kids’ charity

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.

• IHOP is selling short stacks of pancakes for $1 on Tuesday to help fight child hunger. The promotion runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The money from the sales will go toward the No Kid Hungry project.

• Three dozen or so companies are hiring for more than 2,000 jobs Tuesday in Phoenix. Industries represented include business management, sales, technology and healthcare. The job fair runs from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Phoenix Airport Hilton near 48th Street and University Drive.

• Cricket Wireless will deliver 300 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to the Salvation Army at 27th and Washington streets in Phoenix on Tuesday. The backpacks were donated by Valley residents during a recent school supply drive.
