PHOENIX — Here come the kids.
Grand Canyon University welcomed thousands of students — most of them wearing purple — to its west Phoenix campus Monday during the first day of move-in week.
Volunteers began setting up for the “Luggage Lug” at 5 a.m. and by 6 a.m. were greeting the first bunches of students and their parents.
University President Brian Mueller has been known to pitch in
A record 17,500 students have enrolled for the fall semester, the university said. About 3,000 are freshmen.
Classes at the school, at 33rd Avenue and Camelback Road, will begin Aug. 29.
