NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – A former University of Oklahoma social work professor has been acquitted of charges accusing him of sexually abusing several young girls.
A Cleveland County jury on Friday night found Dwain Pellebon not guilty on three counts of child sexual abuse and six counts of lewd or indecent proposal to children younger than 16.
Pellebon told reporters that he feels “vindicated” but that that his life is changed forever.
Pellebon was arrested in December 2011 after he was accused of sex crimes against children, including one girl who is mentally disabled. He later resigned from the university.
