PHOENIX — Police confirmed another shooting is part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged serial shooter Wednesday and upped the reward to $50,000 in the case.
Police said a July 11 shooting in a residential area near 32nd Street and Thomas Road was likely committed by the same man wanted in a string of shootings across the Valley.
Two people — a 21-year-old man and 4-year-old child — were in the car at the time of the latest shooting. Neither were injured.
Police now believe the shooter has access to two cars: A white Cadillac or Lincoln and a late-1990s or early-2000s black BMW 5 series.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is working with Phoenix police on the investigation, added $20,000 to the reward for information on the shooting.
“Someone out there knows who did this,” Phoenix Police Chief Joe Yahner said in an earlier release.
Nine shootings across the Valley have been linked to the shooter, in which seven people have been killed.
If all nine incidents were carried out by the same person or group, they could be charged with as many as seven homicides and a slew of other shooting-related charges.
Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
