World Series celebrations turn destructive in NH

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) – World Series celebrations turned destructive at college campuses in New Hampshire after the Red Sox clinched the championship over the St. Louis Cardinals.
University of New Hampshire officials say police used pepper spray and pepper balls to break up a crowd of several hundred students that had gathered at the Durham campus Wednesday night. Officials say some of the students had thrown glass bottles at officers.
At Plymouth State University, witnesses tell WMUR-TV (
http://bit.ly/1dQR2xT) that small fires were set on campus and light poles were destroyed.
At Keene State College, police say they also dealt with large, unruly groups that gathered after the game.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or arrests.
