PHOENIX — It’s almost expected now that if you want to walk outside to go somewhere, you better be prepared to sweat a little.

Temperatures that find themselves in the triple digits are common occurrence in the Phoenix area in summer, with this season’s July nothing unusual.

Or was it?

The National Weather Service found that there were 15 days last month in which the temperature reached at least 110 degrees. That ties 2009 and 2005 for the most days in July in which Phoenix got that hot in the last 12 years.

July’s brutal stretch has Phoenix on the way to another record: This year could see the most days over 110 degrees recorded in the city’s history.

For those who claim this summer is much hotter than last, the weather service threw you a bone with the above tweet. At the very bottom of the image is the number of days the mercury crept over the 110-degree mark in July 2015.

One.

But that’s not to say last year wasn’t hot. Phoenix saw more than 100 days of 100 degrees or more, with the thermometers still showing triple digits well into late September.

We want to hear from you.
