Main Street Minute: Phoenix Suns player to host back-to-school giveaway

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.

• The Arizona Small Business Association is teaming up with the Black Chamber of Arizona to host a special training and networking event. It’s designed to help businesses learn how to offer products and services that benefit veterans. The event runs Friday from 9 a.m. until noon near 44th and Washington streets.

• Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight will host his Back To School Backpack Bash Saturday at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Knight plans to hand out more than 600 backpacks to Valley schoolkids. The free event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will include bounce houses, face painting areas, food and live music.
