An aggravated assault inside a car driving along the SR51 temporarily closed the highway southbound Sunday morning according to Phoenix Police.
Two adult males had an argument inside a car going south on SR51 when the car crashed into the center barrier of the highway. When the car crashed, a physical fight took place and the passenger assaulted the driver, beating him severely.
Phoenix Police are saying the passenger “may have deliberately” crashed the car. The passenger was taken into custody and the driver was transported to a local hospital with extremely critical injuries.
