If you like beer, then this is the perfect time to be living in Arizona.

Just weeks after Pedal Haus Brewery was honored at the North American Beer Awards, another Phoenix-area brewing company took home a prize.

Huss Brewing Company in Tempe won a bronze medal at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.

Their flagship beer, Scottsdale Blonde, won the award under the Golden or Blonde ale section.

Over 5,000 beers representing over 90 styles were sent in this year to the U.S. Open Beer Championship, and according to its website, “Breweries from Maui to Munich” were represented.

The brewery in Tempe has been owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Jeff and Leah Huss, according to its website. There are five year-round beers that Huss Brewing Company sells at its site and in stores, and it also produces three seasonal selections.

Besides Scottsdale Blonde, the other year-rounders are Magic in the Ivy, Koffee Kolsch, That’ll Do and The Husstler.

Huss Brewing Company wasn’t the only brewery in Arizona to win an award at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.

Grand Canyon Brewing won gold under the American Wheat Pale section for its hybrid beer, Grand Canyon Expeditions Wheat Ale.

We want to hear from you.
