Ever wonder who the most famous actors from each state are?

Well, thanks to Thrillist, they’ve compiled a list of the best 1-2 punch of actors from across the country. According to the list, Mary-Louise Parker took the title of best actor from the Grand Canyon State.

Against all odds, Arizona generated the most heated discussion as we sifted through candidates. Ultimately, Parker, who graduated from high school in Tempe (Marcos de Niza) before stunning us with her performances in Weeds, The West Wing and Angels in America, edged out TV legend Danson, who grew up in Flagstaff, by virtue of the inspired theatrical work that’s earned her a Tony and other stage awards.

Parker debuted in the 1988 soap opera Ryan’s Hope, but didn’t really break onto the scene until 2001 in The West Wing. The 51-year-old was nominated for an Emmy and Screen Actors Guild award in 2002 for her performance in the drama.

She finally took home the hardware the following year, earning a Golden Globe and an Emmy in the HBO miniseries Angels in America.

Following Angels in America, Parker appeared in a few television films before striking gold with the black comedy drama Weeds in 2005. The series ran for eight seasons and amassed numerous awards that included Satellite Awards, a Golden Globe, two Emmys and more.

Parker’s next appearance is set to be in a comedy film called Chronically Metropolitan, slated to open later in 2016, and a new miniseries called When We Rise in 2017.

We want to hear from you.
