WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) – Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is scheduled to speak to about 1,000 graduates at West Point.
Hagel visits West Point Saturday after a turbulent week for the military.
The Army said Wednesday that a sergeant at West Point had been charged with secretly photographing and videotaping at least a dozen women at the academy. It was the latest in a series of sexual misconduct incidents across the military.
The U.S. Military Academy cadets will graduate in a ceremony at the academy’s football stadium. Graduates of the storied military academy on the banks of New York’s Hudson River become second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
On Thursday, President Barack Obama in a speech at the U.S. Naval Academy addressed the sexual abuse scandals that have sullied the military’s image.
