PEORIA, Ill. (AP) – Defense attorneys expect to wrap up their case in the trial of a man charged with killing five members of a central Illinois family.
Attorneys for Christopher Harris said Tuesday they will call their last two witnesses on Wednesday. Jury deliberations could begin Thursday.
Harris is charged with killing Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children in their home in Beason in September 2009.
Harris admits killing one child. But he claims he walked in on the boy, 14-year-old Dillen Constant, killing his family.
An expert on video game violence testified Tuesday that the boy had several risk factors for violent behavior. Those included playing violent games.
Harris was once married to Rick Gee’s daughter, Nicole. She was not at the home when her family was killed.
