(AP) – A Southern California wildfire burning through coastal wilderness nearly doubled in size Friday, growing to more than 28 square miles.
“It’s just the beginning of May and we already have a 10,000-plus acre fire that’s burning intensely,” said Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Tom Kruschke. “That doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season.”
