DOGS ALLOWED?
Nov 6, 2012, 9:08 PM
(AP) – The PTA at Oakland Terrace Elementary School in Silver Spring, Md. was set up outside the school with coffee, donuts, bananas, and other items for those in line.
“Every item is $1,” the volunteer behind the desk said as she collected money. “That’s because it makes it easier for the cashier.”
Inside, a young boy had his small dog in a harness in front of him as he stood with his mother in line. Eventually, the dog was taken out and, with his leash, waited patiently in line with everyone else.
About a half-hour later, a poll worker said: “I better look up whether dogs are allowed.” The dog wasn’t asked to leave. It’s unclear whether the next animal would be allowed to stay.
