According to the Phoenix Business Journal, Banner Health’s construction projects that are currently active add up to $1.9 billion.
The main hospital campuses in Phoenix and Tucson are the biggest projects underway.
Earlier this week, the company started work on a $400 million project in Tucson for a hospital facility.
They are also underway on a $419 million emergency department and 16-story patient tower in Phoenix. That tower and department will be at the Banner-University Medical Center Phoenix campus.
The $1.9 billion is up from last year’s number of $1.5 billion despite the amount of active projects going down from 377 last year to 322 this year.
97 of those projects are among the ones not in Arizona and total $307 million. There are an additional 179 other projects included in Arizona that include a new behavioral health patient tower in Scottsdale and other renovations in hospitals already open.
