The Interstate 17 northbound has been reopened after two separate collisions early Sunday morning caused a closure.
After police responded to an initial report of a vehicle blocking the freeway, a Phoenix police motorcycle officer collided with the vehicle.
Both individuals in the crash have minor injuries and are in stable condition.
The freeway was previously closed northbound, with traffic being rerouted onto a frontage road according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. The southbound lanes were not affected by the closure.
