PHOENIX — If you’ve been searching for a desert home with room for your horses and a place to have a drink inside a buried railroad car, your ticket just hit the Phoenix real estate market.

A listing from Coldwell Banker said a home in the Cave Creek area offers all that’s mentioned above and a lot more for slightly more than $725,000.

The 4,091-square-foot home, located near Fleming Springs Road and 68th Street in the norther portion of Cave Creek offers five bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Originally built in 1967, the home spent time as a bed and breakfast and was remodeled in 2005. It has a commercial-grade kitchen complete with hickory cabinets and solid counters.

The home’s master bedroom overlooks the pool from each of its three balconies. The other four bedrooms are downstairs, but all boast their own patio.

Outside, the home sits on nearly five acres of land and has enough covered stalls and space for as many as 25 horses.

And now for the part you came for: The rail cars.

The home has a basement area built from vintage train cars that are currently serving as an entertainment space. However, the listing says the rail cars — or the space they occupy — could be used by a doomsday prepper as a shelter.

We want to hear from you.
