Main Street Minute: Arizona restaurant group donates $5K to school district

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.

• The Roosevelt School District just got some much needed help for its summer school enrichment program. The Arizona Restaurant Association has donated more than $5,000 to help fund programs that teach kids about culinary-related topics such as nutrition, sanitation, recipes, business and creative thinking.

• Vixxo is holding a job fair Wednesday in Scottsdale. It runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. near Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard. The technology company has 30 openings in customer service.

• More than 20 employers are hiring Wednesday at a career fair near Sky Harbor Airport. It runs from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Phoenix Airport North near 44th Street and McDowell Road. Hiring managers from small local businesses, Fortune 500 companies as well as nonprofit and government agencies will be on site.
