As Arizona gas prices fall, drivers take to streets in record numbers

Gas prices are falling as the market is flooded with record amounts of fuel.
Across Arizona, the average price at the pump has dropped more than a penny this week, ending at an average of $2.16 a gallon. It might not sound like much but Arizona is one of the states experiencing the largest year-by-year gas savings.
Some cities in the Valley are seeing averages prices as low as $2.13 a gallon.
“Lower gas prices are contributing to drivers taking to the roads at record levels, and the 2016 summer driving season is expected to rival 2007 when gasoline demand hit an all-time high,” Linda Gorman, director of communications and public affairs for AAA Arizona said in a press release.
“Arizona’s prices are stabilizing or even falling in some markets. If supply can keep pace with demand, averages should remain relatively low,” she said.
