Authorities seize $348K worth of cocaine in bust at Arizona border

PHOENIX — Authorities stopped a woman at the Mexico-Arizona border they said was carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine this week.
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested the woman Monday on smuggling charges.
They said she tried to bring into the U.S. nearly 31 pounds of cocaine, worth almost $348,000, through the Port of Nogales.
A drug-sniffing dog honed in on a rightside wheel of a Nissan van after officers signaled it required a more thorough inspection.
The 40-year-old driver, the drugs and van were turned over to Homeland Security.
