Main Street Minute: Bank awards Arizona nonprofits $300K in grants

KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday at 7:23 a.m.
• Bank of America is awarding $300,000 in grants to 18 Arizona nonprofits Tuesday morning. The money will be used to help low and moderate income people receive job training, skills development, internship opportunities and employment placement. Among the groups receiving money will be Dress for Success Phoenix, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation; I CAN-Improving Chandlers Area Neighborhoods and Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center.
• A pair of job fairs are scheduled Tuesday in the East Valley: Safelite Auto Glass is hiring customer service ambassadors and bilingual customer service reps from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. near Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard. Lifewell Behaviorial Wellness is looking for a client support specialist, driver, an entry-level clinician associate and experienced clinicians and counselors. The hiring event runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. near Mesa and University drives.
• Mellow Mushroom Pizza has added a location in the East Valley. The new place is near Stapley and Baseline roads in Mesa. The pizza chain has five restaurants in metro Phoenix.
