BELLEFONTE, Pa. — A lawyer for Jerry Sandusky said the retired Penn State
assistant football coach wants “people to know that he’s not guilty.”
Sandusky was convicted Friday of 45 counts for sexually abusing 10 boys over 15
years.
Karl Rominger, who represents Sandusky along with Joe Amendola, said he visited
the 68-year-old former coach at the Centre County jail Monday.
Rominger said Sandusky’s mood is defiant.
He said Sandusky is being kept away from other inmates and has not been able to
see his family pending a psychological evaluation.
Rominger said that Sandusky is still under observation but that his client is
not suicidal. The attorney added that Sandusky wanted the examination to take place so
that he can start receiving visits from his family.
