PHOENIX — Thursday is Cinco de Mayo, meaning many Arizonans will be heading out to celebrate with some Mexican food and possibly a margarita or two.

But those drinks can really add up by the end of the night, which is why Triple-A of Arizona, Uber and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office are all making sure everyone can get home safely.

Triple-A will be offering its Tipsy Tow service from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. For no charge, the organization will send a tow truck to take your car and you home, as long as you live within a 10-mile radius.

However, Tipsy Tow is often in high demand and rides cannot be scheduled out ahead of time.

“We want people to use Tipsy Tow as a last resort,” Stephanie Moe with the organization said. “We really hope, as a safety advocate, that people will have a safe ride home included in their plans for the evening, but really to just avoid drinking and driving.”

The service is open to anyone, not just Triple-A members.

If Tipsy Tow is out of the question — or just too busy — there are other options.

“First-time Uber users can earn $15 off their first ride, which will cover most trips,” Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery said.

His office has partnered with the rideshare giant to help people get home safely with the code CINCO2016. As Montgomery said, the code is only good for those who have never taken an Uber before.

For every new rider who uses the code, Uber will donate $5 to Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Arizona.

Other Uber users can enter the code CINCOVIP for a chance to win a $50 ride credit.
