Main Street Minute: Pomelo restaurant opens in Phoenix

• The dining scene in Phoenix is getting a little more crowded. Pomelo, near 12th Street and Glendale Avenue, is set to open Thursday. The new place at Orchard PHX will serve contemporary American food. Two other restaurants at the site are scheduled to open later this month.
• Mad Greens wants to hire more than three dozen employees for its soon-to-open north Scottsdale location. The restaurant is taking online applications and will begin interviews shortly. This will be the restaurant’s sixth Valley location and is scheduled to open in late June.
• In honor of National Burger Month, a popular fast-food joint is giving you a chance to win $2,500. Whataburger wants fans to celebrate the art of making a Whataburger with an adult coloring contest. The contest runs all monthlong. Weekly winners will receive free burgers for an entire year.
