NEW YORK (AP) – A Staten Island Ferry has come in for a rough landing after experiencing a mechanical problem, but New York City transportation officials say nobody was injured and the vessel is apparently undamaged.
The problem happened on a Thursday afternoon ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island. Passengers tell the Staten Island Advance (

The ferry’s crew told passengers to brace for impact and the boat hit the pier harder than usual.
Department of Transportation spokesman Seth Solomonow says ferries are still running on time after the incident.
