Sharper Point: What should we call the fourth round of Super Tuesday?
Apr 25, 2016, 2:17 PM
On Tuesday, five more states — Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island — will head to the primary polls to vote for their presidential candidates.
Some media outlets are branding the five combined primaries as Super Tuesday Four. That name is not only unoriginal, but it’s plain boring.
After all, this is a day that could push Hillary Clinton within sight of the Democratic nomination and see Donald Trump brush off the combined efforts of Ted Cruz and John Kasich to slow his campaign.
Basically, things could get exciting. So why are we giving the day such a dull moniker?
I got to thinking of some other ideas. I’m not in love with what I came up with, but I’m just spitballing here:
- Kinda Great Tuesday
- TGI Tuesday
- Moderately Interesting Tuesday
Those are just a few. You can check out a few more of my ideas in the video above.
The point is, this could easily be labeled Gosh Is This Thing Over Yet Tuesday. People are getting tired of election news, so we need something to excite them!
Super Tuesday Four isn’t going to do that.
If you have some ideas for what we should call the latest round of primaries, drop me some suggestions in the comments below.
