Main Street Minute: New eating spot opens in Chandler

• Phoenix firefighter recruits have received $25,000 to help them train smarter. Home alarm-maker Nest teamed up with the Leary Firefighters Foundation to award the grant.
• A new restaurant has started serving in the East Valley. 55 Chicago has opened in downtown Chandler. The restaurant and bar feature indoor and outdoor seating, modern decor and a large bar. The menu has everything from burgers to pizza to paninis. It’s owned by the same group behind nearby Perch Pub and Brewery.
• A Phoenix dental-health group is about to expand. Phoenix-based Risas Dental and Braces plans to open seven locations across Arizona and Colorado over the next year. The Phoenix Business Journal reports the group has provided more than $2 million in free dental care since it opened in 2011.
