EAST NORWICH, N.Y. (AP) – About two dozen Syrians from around the United States paid tribute to slain journalist Marie Colvin with a visit to her family’s New York home.
The Marie Colvin Convoy for Freedom of Syria arrived at the East Norwich home on Long Island Friday morning.
They presented Colvin’s mother, Rosemarie, with flowers and a condolence card.
The gathering of friends and family then moved to a nearby park for a short ceremony.
Colvin worked for the Sunday Times of London.
She was killed on Feb. 22 when a Syrian army mortar struck the building that served as a makeshift media center in the village of Homs (hohms).
The war correspondent’s funeral on Monday was attended by hundreds of mourners, including media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
