PHOENIX — What’s in a name? Apparently it’s the way you lean politically, that’s what.

A new report from the search engine filter AppRecs determined which presidential candidates that people with certain names tended to support and donate to their campaigns.

The website took a myriad of names and used data from the Federal Election Commission’s donor data from 1996 to today in order to determine which presidential candidates that people with certain names tended to support.

The data was used to rank the names, ranging from your classic Billy and Jan to less common names such as Ernest and Doris, to find who favored each candidate, spent the most money on their candidate’s campaigns and favored the Democrat or Republican party.

Hillary Clinton supporters had names such as Mohammad and Liz, while her competitor Bernie Sanders had supporters with names such as Karl and Ian.

On the other hand, Republican front runner Donald Trump trumped with voters with names such as Bobby and Kent, while Ted Cruz boasted supporters with names such as Billy and Gene (yes, as in Simmons.) John Kasich’s supporters are along the lines of Glen and Rodney.

But if you’re wondering who donates the most amount of money to political campaigns, the website determined that data, too. Akrams topped the list, with a median donation amount of $1,000, while Agathas stayed low with a median amount of $250.

Most names had a median donation amount of $500, according to the website.

Also, if you were wondering if people with your same name tend to lean the same way as you do politically, type your name into the search bar to see what comes up.

The list is ranked from most Republican-leaning to most Democrat-leaning, showing how many people with a specific name voted toward either party and their median donation amount.

So, next time you see an Emily, remember that the odds are more likely that she’s a Democrat who donates a median amount of $386 to her favored candidate. Happy searching!
