Younger sister convinced of zombie outbreak after trip to dentist

PHOENIX — Zombies are scary. The dentist is scary. Put the two together, add some sedatives and a couple wise-cracking brothers and you have the recipe for a great practical joke.

The video, which has garnered nearly 15 million views since Monday, shows brothers Cabot and Barrett Phillips executing a well-planned ruse on their little sister Millicent, who is too high on anesthetics and sedatives to catch on.

As if getting your wisdom teeth out is not bad enough, the brothers start the prank on the way home from the dentist. The radio is interrupted by a pre-recorded emergency broadcast system “CDC report,” which warns Millicent of a viral outbreak and reported cannibalism.

The hook is set when Millicent’s mother calls and begs the siblings to rush home.

The little sister sits mortified in the passenger seat as her brothers load up the car with provisions and weapons.

“We have guns, why are you putting garden equipment in the car?” she pleads.

When one brother asks Millicent which pet to bring, she blurts out, “the cat, you idiot!” without missing a beat.

You’d think she might catch on when asked “funfetti or chocolate,” but the fog of anesthetics is too strong to see through.

The family was invited to the Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about the prank.

“I’ve been getting a lot of hatred about this from the dog people, naturally,” she told Ellen. “(Our dog) bites, he’s tiny, and he’s like 10-years-old,” she added as rationale.
