RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Officials at North Carolina State University have issued a security alert after two unrelated reports of subjects possibly carrying guns on campus.
The alert issued Wednesday cautions that neither report has been verified by the university’s police department. The sprawling Raleigh campus has not been placed on lockdown and classes are continuing as scheduled.
At 10:43 a.m. a witness reported a college-age, heavy set male wearing a blue toboggan hat, dark jacket, dark pants walking on Current Drive toward Hillsborough Street.
At noon, a witness reported a man possibly carrying a gun. He was described as around 20 years old wearing a striped toboggan hat, tan jacket and baggy blue jeans. He was headed toward Riddick Hall.
