Arizona Helping Hands

Arizona Helping Hands is a non-profit organization providing basic essential needs to boys and girls in foster care. We are the PLACE WITH THE STUFF for these kids. Our primary service is providing children a SAFE PLACE to sleep. Families travel from all over the State to receive a crib or a bed from our warehouse in Scottsdale. A bed is such an important sanctuary for every person, but even more so for a child who has faced trauma and disruption at such a young age. We will give 3,000 children a SAFE PLACE to rest their heads and find a bit of peace in 2017.

Arizona Helping Hands is the largest provider of basic essential needs to the almost 17,000 children in foster care in Arizona. In addition to beds, we provide clothing, diapers, personal care items and more to try to "normalize" their lives. Then, our Birthday Dreams program celebrates children whose birthdays way too often come and go unnoticed. We will make birthdays special for 1,500 kids in 2017.

Newer programs include providing Home Safety Items to make it easier to become a foster home – fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, CO2 monitors and more. We also just began "Foster Footlockers" – allowing children in group home settings a place where they can lock up their personal belongings and prized possessions.

From the newborn baby released to a foster family directly from the hospital (most often with substance dependency), who is in need of a crib, to the teenager aging out of foster care who needs a bed to sleep on in their first apartment, Arizona Helping Hands is here to make lives more comfortable for boys and girls who need our love and assistance. #StandUp with us for boys and girls in foster care!
