    I cannot understand how people would want the federal government to take over control without even proving their case first. Things may not always be done the way the magority feel they should but that is not reason to throw our hands up and let the almighty governemnt "come to our rescue" Once the feds take over the Sheriff's Office, Maricopa County citizens will NEVER get it back. a new Sheriff will not be the answer to this situation.

    means control. The exact nature of the monitor's role and responsibilities is something to be ironed out during negotiations, and then given the court's stamp of approval. Arpaio resists any form of monitoring, no matter how modest, because, like those doing time in his jails he doesn't want anyone checking into his lawbreaking activities.
