Director of Tucson Water Takes Phoenix Post

The longtime director of Tucson Water is leaving to become director of water services for the City of Phoenix.

David Modeer has headed the city water utility in Tucson since 1998.

Modeer says as much as he regrets leaving Tucson Water, he says the opportunity in Phoenix allows him to ``remain in Arizona and continue to build on state and regional sustainability efforts.''

Modeer expects to start his new job by May.
