Arizona is one of the top DUI enforcement states in the country, according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving's fifth annual report to the nation.

According to MADD's website, Arizona is only one of five states and the District of Columbia to receive a five-star rating.

In order to receive five stars, a state must require ignition interlocks for drunk driving offenders, conduct sobriety checkpoints, have harsher penalties for those convicted of DUI with a child in the car, not permit a majority of drivers to refuse tests to reveal their blood alcohol and confiscate the driver's license for those convicted of drunk driving.

Drunk driving fell 46 percent in Arizona, which contributed to the five-star rating, the website said.

MADD said, in order for Arizona to continue to hold its five-stat rating, the state needs to appoint a statewide DUI coordinator.
