PHOENIX -- A booster club treasurer at Copper Canyon High School in Glendale has been arrested on charges of having sex with a teen-age football player.
Cherish Arroyo, 35, Litchfield Park, was arrested Tuesday after the boy's parents found what they believed were "inappropriate communications" with Arroyo on Facebook, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said. She was released on bond Wednesday morning.
Arroyo is charged with six felony counts of sex with a minor, a 17-year-old on the football team, authorities said.
They said, after finding the Facebook communications, the parents confronted their son, who eventually admitted he had both oral sex and sexual intercourse with Arroyo on three occasions starting when he was 16.
Arroyo has two teen-age children who attend Copper Canyon, one of whom is a teammate of the alleged victim, investigators said. They said the sex acts allegedly happened at her home.
"My deputies are continuing to investigate the woman's activities and have received information from the victim that Arroyo may have abused other team members or school mates," said Sheriff Joe Arpaio. "If there are other victims, we would like them to come forward with information."
Arpaio said Arroyo has been "very cooperative" with deputies and explained her actions by saying she was "lonesome."
