5 shot in early morning shooting in central Phoenix

PHOENIX - Three people were killed and two others wounded in an early morning shooting in near 23rd Avenue and Campbell early Thursday morning, according to police.

The Phoenix Police Department said shots rang out around 3 a.m. Two men, ages 20 and 26, were shot and killed outside of the apartment. A 35-year-old woman who was also later died at a hospital.

Two men in their mid-20s were also wounded and were taken to the hospital.

There were to other people inside the apartment, though they were not injured.

Police said there is no word on a motive, but an altercation outside the apartment resulted in gunfire.

They said the suspect or suspects are on the loose after multiple cars were seen fleeing the scene.

    22nd Ave and Indian School Rd. The gunshots, family fights, PD chopper flying orbits on a nightly basis. Third world mentality. Sheriff Joe should sweep that area.
