Combining high energy, a sense of humor and a knack for always finding the right analogy, Dave Burns is the host of "The 620 Sportsline" and "Diamondtalk" on Sports 620 KTAR.

Bio: Dave Burns

Position: Host of The 620 Sportsline and Diamondtalk. Sportscenter update anchor during the Gambo and Ash show.

Years with the company: 11 in August

More on what you do (at work): When the schedule allows...host The 620 Sportsline every night 6:00-8:00. A high energy show, that thrives on humor, creativity, honest opinion and passion, and the best analogies you'll ever hear. During the baseball season, I host Diamondtalk after every single D-backs game, taking as many calls as we can on what went right/wrong with the game. Plus, I'm proud to say, I'm the Commissioner of Sports 620 KTAR, presiding over all the conflicts and contests between the morning and afternoon show.

Education: Broadcast Journalism degree from Northern Arizona University, class of 1993. But attended all three in-state universities. Started at U of A, graduated from NAU and took some summer school classes at ASU. Name your in-state school and I'll root for ‘em! Also, did an internship for CBS Sports in New York where I helped plan CBS' acquisition of SEC college football.

Family: Married to the Decision-Maker (Charissa) for 14 fantastic years. We have two kids, Jake who is 11 and loves baseball (just like his dad) and Samantha, who is 8 and loves to talk (just like her dad).

Favorite restaurant: Teakwoods in Gilbert.

First job: In the radio business - A technical director for KIRO Newsradio 710 in Seattle. Outside the radio business - Worked at a video rental store when I was 13.

Favorite spot in Arizona: North Campus of Northern Arizona University. Lake Powell. And poolside in my backyard with a Sam Adams Light in hand.

What is in your iPod: Over 2200 songs. Ben Folds. Ben Folds Five. U2. Pearl Jam. Radiohead. The White Stripes. Nirvana. Coldplay. Death Cab for Cutie. Green Day. Billy Joel. Led Zeppelin. Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Police. Bach. Favorite song - Wonderwall by Oasis.

Favorite team: Diamondbacks and Suns.

Favorite athlete: Chris Snyder. Dude is a bad-ass. Can I write that?

Favorite sports memory: Standing in line, watching the 9th inning of game seven in the hallway outside the D-backs clubhouse, waiting to interview the losing team in the 2001 World Series, only to rush the field moments later after Gonzo's base hit.

Best sports event worked/covered: See above. But games 3, 4 and 5 in the Bronx were pretty cool too. The Paul O'Neill chant was just about the best thing I ever saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears. And I hate the Yankees.

Bucket List: A Duke-North Carolina game from Cameron Indoor. Hike Yosemite. Take my wife to Italy and Australia. Buy a cabin in Flagstaff. Run for office (maybe). Write a book or two (definitely).
