Here's what went down Monday on G&A…

Legacy Defined?…Peyton Manning and the Colts were upset Sunday by the Saints in Super Bowl 44 in Miami. G&A debated where this now leaves Manning on the list of all-time great signal-callers. Gambo believes Manning's sub-par game knocked him down on the list of Hall of Famers who came before him like Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, and Steve Young. John feels Montana is the greatest quarterback ever. Ash believes Manning is the greatest even after the set-back, especially since he wasn't surrounded with the great supporting cast like Montana had with the 49ers.

The Other Pa(e)yton…Sean Payton etched his name in the elite status of Super Champion coaches thanks to some savvy, and at times, gutsy play-calling. The guys loved how Payton left no bullets in the chamber, including an onsides kick to start the second half which completely changed the complexity of the game.

STAT Tracker 20.10…with the trade deadline just ten days away, Gambo confirmed a weekend report that the Suns are scouting Sixers' shooting guard Andre Iguodala as they field possible offers for Amare Stoudemire. The guys also discussed Steve Nash's weekend comments saying he hopes to keep the team intact. Mark is still hoping they overhaul the roster, despite the current five-game win streak. Gambo knows a viable option could be a sign and trade deal like Phoenix did shipping Joe Johnson to the Hawks for Boris Diaw and a package of picks.

Rushing to Judgment…John feels the Colts moved away from their effective first-half rushing attack behind a revitalized Joseph Addai which essentially led to the loss. In the first half, Indianapolis was able to successfully mix Addai with play-action passes which kept Gregg Williams and his aggressive defense off-balance for most of the first half.

The Other Quarterback…with all the talk entering Sunday's Super Bowl on the legacy of Peyton Manning, Drew Brees stole the spotlight and now the game MVP is on his way to Disneyland. Gambo calls Brees one of the greatest free-agent signings in all of football citing most great quarterbacks are acquired thru the draft or via trade. Another name he mentioned was Reggie White who helped Brett Favre win a title in Green Bay. Ash knows people will look at Brees differently now that he's won a championship and believes he is more than just a good quarterback who puts up big numbers. John thinks Brees is a good, not great quarterback while Mark countered with we're not sure where to rank Brees because he is just now entering the prime of his career and could add another title before his playing days are over.

Amare'can Idol…Gambo, Ash, and Dave Burns shared their thoughts on Amare Stoudemire's performance Friday night in Sacramento and unanimously voted STAT a max-type player after his 30-point, nine rebound effort against the Kings. For the season, Stoudemire's record sits at 27-26 in favor of him being worthy of max money.
