Patty: Start/Sit - Week 9

Before we get into who should be IN and who should be OUT for Fantasy Week 9, I have a few thoughts.
I think the front-runners for this years NFL MVP award are quite clear, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. I am also going to throw Brett Favre into the mix. Brees and Manning I think were on everyone's pre-season list, while Favre was supposedly retired, again. I know we still have half the season left to play, but Favre has far exceeded expectations in Minnesota. He has thrown 16 touchdown passes to just three interceptions and is a big reason why the Vikings are 7-1. I don't think that Tavaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels' stat lines would be as impressive, do you? Now everyone knows why head coach Brad Childress left practice to pick Favre up at the airport.
I drafted Vernon Davis every year in fantasy since he was a rookie and the year I don't he figures out how to play tight end in the NFL. Davis has seven touchdowns so far this year and 375 yards receiving, ridiculous. I have also been very impressed with Michael Crabtree. I thought that he would be a non-factor this year because of all the practice time he had missed, I was wrong. Crabtree has eleven catches through his first two games for 137 yards and I only see him getting better as the season goes along.
With that lets get into who should be IN and who should be OUT of your lineup going into week nine.
IN - Ryan Moats/Kevin Walter - Moats had 23 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns filling in for Steve Slaton last week. Slaton might be regulated to the bench because of fumbling problems, which opens the door for Moats. With stud tight end Owen Daniels lost for the season with an ACL injury Kevin Walter will have to step up and be quarterback Matt Schaub's second option.
IN - Vince Young - Several teams are on their bye week this week and Young wouldn't be a terrible fill in. He was 15 for 18 for 125 yards and a touchdown in his first start since the opener of 2008. He is not going to throw for huge numbers, but he also presents problems for defenses with his ability to run. I like Young this week against a San Francisco defense that is without cornerback Nate Clements.
OUT - Brian Westbrook - Even though Westbrook is cleared to play against Dallas I wouldn't play him on your fantasy team. For the season, Westbrook has only found the end zone twice, once on the ground and once through the air. He is 30 years old now and just looks like he has lost a step. Last week LeSean McCoy took a handoff and went 66 yards for a touchdown. I just don't see that kind of explosiveness from Westbrook anymore.
OUT - Jamaal Charles - I know Larry Johnson is suspended and might never see the field again for Kansas City, but Charles is not the answer. The Chiefs offensive line is atrocious and Matt Cassel doesn't necessarily put fear in the hearts of defenses. Plus the Chiefs have zero rushing touchdowns on the season! So let someone else mess up and play Charles and know you made the right call.
