Authorities have found a 20-month-old boy after issuing an Amber Alert about 12 hours earlier.
Surprise police spokesman Sgt. Randy Rody said both the boy and his 15-year-old babysitter are safe and well.
"Amanda Rainey and Michael Wolfe were located in the city of Avondale at an apartment complex," said Ortega.
Rainey is currently being questioned at the police department.
Authorities issued the alert for the boy, Michael Wolfe, early Thursday morning. They said the boy was last seen Wednesday afternoon in the care of Rainey.
Rainey represented herself as a 19-year-old nanny on the website, Craig's List, Surprise police said. She was hired as a live-in nanny for Michael Wolfe on Monday.
"What we're finding out now is that she's actually 15-years-old, she is a runaway," said Mark Ortega with Surprise police. "She's from Gilbert. She does have a criminal history."
The Amber Alert issued for the child said Rainey is a methamphetamine user.
``We don't know what her motives are for taking the child," Ortega said.
Investigators obtained a search warrant Thursday morning and took a computer from the boy's home.
"For all we know, maybe she (Rainey) was corresponding with somebody on there," said Ortega. "She had access to the whole house."
Police were told that Amanda and Michael were seen getting into a pickup truck on Wednesday, with the father's permission, driven by a Hispanic woman about 4 p.m. at the boy's home.
The father was home when they left, but did not become concerned until about 6 p.m. when they had not returned. The boy's mother lives in the Philippines.
